....This one happens to be knowing that in 5 minutes your Son will be piloting an airplane for the first time solo.
I guess the instructor would not let it happen if he was not ready but that ain't helping much right now for an arm chair dad sitting at home worrying about it.
That is all.

Rick,
Part of you should be concerned, and part of you should be proud. Hell, that's a pretty big deal !
I'm sure he's a bit nervous too, but he should be proud as well.
Most people never get the chance to do that............ at any age.
Give him my congrats when he's back on terra firma.

He is back in one piece. Had it all on GoPro.
Three take offs and landings in about a 30 minute time period.
Watching them all grow and go in their different directions makes me happy for their accomplishments.
Wednesday I watched the youngest play in her second volleyball match of the year. They won the first game 25-18 and she was first to serve in the second game. They won that game 25-0....and she never lost service. Could not believe she served every point, and once it got to be about 16-0 everyone realized what was happening. She started feeling the pressure at about 20-0.
I will pass on the message to him from you. Just hard for me to believe it just seems like yesterday he was tagging along on hunts like the Pony Express dove hunt at 8 years old and now look at him. Time flies by.

Cool, but I'd have been nervous too. Kind of like their first time driving, or going out in the back yard to do some shooting on their own.

Congrats Dabs. I soloed before I could drive, I had good parents too.
In highschool I took a few girls for dates, getting a hamburger the next state over. Expensive, but worth it.

That's one fine boy you got there. Should be proud of the way you raised him.
BTW, congratulate him on now being a pilot. Seems like just yesterday he was just a little lad.

No congrats go to me....He had done this all on his own.
As for taking a date out of state...He is so damn tight he doesn't want to spend the money to take one down the road to Hardees....so I don't know about that. Lol
